Worcester Wolves coach Paul James has been praised for the attitude his players have adopted in the current BBL season, with a club representative saying they would ‘run through brick walls for each other’.
Worcester – who sit second in the BBL table – are currently in the middle of a break between fixtures, with their next match taking place on Saturday 24th March at home to Sheffield Sharks.
Wolves will certainly be keen to continue the form they have shown in recent weeks, having won their last six fixtures largely thanks to an excellent team spirit that continues to go from strength to strength.
Speaking about the attitude around the club, press officer Colin Taylor said: “Everyone at the club is indeed in excellent spirits, but this is not a recent feeling, it has been this way since the early days of this season.”
“Paul James took a bold decision by bringing a lot of new faces to the club. Not only have there been new faces, but several players with limited pro experience.”
“Whilst for some sides that might have been too radical an overhaul of personnel, as one of the premier coaches in the British game, Paul has been able to create a great environment for players to flourish in. “
“There is a great camaraderie in the team, a happy locker room with players willing to run through brick walls for each other. All the success on-court is now also reaping rewards off-court.”
As for the aims for the rest of the campaign, Taylor admits that the target is to overtake Newcastle Eagles at the top of the BBL table, even though this isn’t entirely in their hands.
“All we can do is keep winning. At this stage of the campaign whether we overtake them will be down to them dropping games while we maintain our form.”
