Stefan Gill: Giants move was easy to make

Manchester Giants’ Stefan Gill says the decision to join the Giants was a “no brainer.”

Gill revealed he had always wanted to play for the old Giants team when he was younger, and to be approached by the new set up was a dream-come true for the 5’8 point guard.

Gill said: “I always wanted to play for the old Giants when I was younger, so to be part of the new club is very exciting.

“It was pretty much a no-brainer as long as it was worth my while financially. We’re not going to be a bottom of the table team, it’s tough to know what the standard will be as some teams have recruited late, but we’ll do okay.

“I know Jeff’s still looking at people but I think we’ll go with a core of British players, and it’s a fantastic opportunity to show what we can do. The team is nicely balanced, and we’ve all played together before as we’ve come through the junior ranks. We can cover all positions and the recruitment’s worked out well.”

Giants face London Lions in their opening game on Friday, September 21 at Wright Robinson Sports College.
