Sheffield out to dent Worcester title chase

Worcester’s title credentials face a stern test on Friday when they travel to face Sheffield Sharks.

Worcester’s title credentials face a stern test on Friday when they travel to face Sheffield Sharks.

The Wolves are one of three clubs trying to hunt down Newcastle at the top of the BBL, currently lying second with a 12-3 record – compared to the Sharks, who lie sixth in the table.

Paul James’ men will be looking to gain revenge for the 76-75 defeat they suffered at the hands of the Sharks back in November, which was their first defeat of the season.

He said: “When we played them in November, we controlled the game for the most part of the game but failed to close the game out. Should we be in the same position again I think we will do a much better job in finishing the game off this time around.

“I’m sure the Sharks organisation are surprised with their position in the table as this is not something they are accustomed to. It’s not for me to be concerned about another team’s performance or as to where they are in the league.”
