Glasgow Rocks have completed their playing roster with the signings of Owen McNally and Dale Grieve.
McNally arrives at the Rocks from Irish side UCD Marian. Despite being born in Long Beach, Mis
sissippi, the 24-year old holds an Irish passport making him exempt from taking up a work permit position.
Grieve arrives after being scouted from the Glasgow franchise’s open trials. He had been tipped to play for the Rocks last season, but a series of unfortunate events meant he missed out on a place in the roster.
But the under 18 Scottish international has been tipped to bounce back and take his opportunity to play in the BBL with both hands.
Coach Stirling Davis was obviously delighted with the completion of his roster, and the signing of two promising young players.
Davis said: “I foresee Owen being our dark horse this season. He has some professional experience playing in Ireland which will give him a step closer to being very effective in the league. He has great footwork and skill along with physical strength which gives us some depth on the interior.
Dale is a guy I have been keeping my eye on for a year now. He has shown tremendous potential in the two open tryouts he has participated in and I am excited to see his development progress at this level.”
The Rocks first pre-season fixture of the season is against a USA Select team this Sunday at Kelvin Hall ISA at 5pm.
