Leicester Riders have signed Slovakian international Pavol Losonsky.
The 24-year old featured for Nova Ves in the Slovakian League following on from time in the US playing college basketball for the University of California. Losonsky has also represented Slovakia .
Riders Head Coach Rob Paternostro said Losonsky was the type of player he was looking for, and who could play in many positions.
Paternostro said: “He had a good year last year in his first professional season and was very interested in coming to play for us. He is a big man who can play both inside and outside and has shown the ability to impact games in many ways.”
“He had a very solid college career at NCAA Division 1 collage, the University of California Irvine, where he was an effective player in both seasons.
“With the addition of Pavol we feel like we have many players that are comfortable playing in many different positions which should allow us to play many different styles.”
Riders will play pre-season home games on against a touring USA Select team on Friday 14th September and Saturday 15th September with both games tipping off at 7pm.
