A strong scoring display in the last 15 minutes of play earnt the Plymouth Raiders a 102-82 triumph over the Mersey Tigers  that saw the Raiders climb to fifth spot in the Championship.

The opening half experienced many lead changes in this thrilling contest with little to separate the sides during the early exchanges. The visiting Tigers were the ones who were on the front foot with a slight 23-22 advantage at the end of the first quarter. Myles Hesson led all scorers for the night with 23 points and he made 3 of 4 shots from beyond the three point line in the first 20 minutes.

The Raiders managed to turn it around in the next quarter restricting their opponents to just seven points in the opening minutes. They followed up their tough defence with a 16-7 run to overturn a 10 point deficit to lead 39-36 at halftime.

Within seven seconds of the re-start, Hesson nailed another triple to tie the game. The Raiders maintained their composure to regain control with a 12-4 surge to take the score at 51-43. The visitors refused to be held down by their opponents as 13 unanswered points climaxing with a David Alliu bucket saw them take the lead once again.

The strength of the home team overwhelmed the Tigers heading into the final stanza, scoring 12 of the last 15 points of the quarter.

Determined as they were, the Tigers failed to salvage a run strong enough to claim victory as six Raiders posted double digit scores in their satisfactory success.
