Plymouth retain Jeremy Bell

Plymouth have re-signed former BBL MVP Jeremy Bell for the 2012/13 season.

Plymouth have re-signed former BBL MVP Jeremy Bell for the 2012/13 season.

Bell, 29, was the Raiders’ top scorer as they appeared in two finals and finished 4th in the BBL last season.

He joins Anthony Rowe in re-signing with the Raiders, while coach Gavin Love has also added Drew Lasker and Colin O’Reilly to his roster.

Love said: “With Jeremy and Anthony returning, it gives us an element of continuity from last season. That’s important and something that you see in common with the best teams in any sport.”

“Jeremy will be relieved of some of the pressure he felt last season in terms of handling the ball. I really believe that he’s going to be even better this year than he was last year.”

Bell averaged 19.3 points per game for the Raiders last season, who have already stated they will be cutting to a seven-deep roster this season.

Plymouth are still hopeful of retaining fellow American Lehmon Colbert, although Paul Williams has already signed in Japan for the new season, meaning he won’t return to Pavilions for the new BBL season, which begins in September.
