Plymouth Raiders captain Anthony Rowe has stated that his team ‘can beat anyone’ on their day as they prepare for the second leg of the BBL play-offs against Glasgow Rocks this afternoon.
Rowe’s team secured an 84-79 victory over Glasgow in the first-leg on Thursday and now they must contend with an away game as they look to book their place in the next round.
The Raiders skipper is convinced that his team can keep going though, despite a long season with plenty of tough games behind them.
Speaking exclusively to bblfans.com about the campaign so far, he said: “We have had a lot of big games this season. We made it to two finals, but unfortunately came up short in both.”
“We have been very consistent up until recently. It is unfortunate the way we have finished.”
“The boys have worked really hard this year and collectively, it has been a good year.”
As for whether Plymouth can bounce back in the play-offs – something they started to do with the first-leg win over Glasgow – Rowe believes his team can beat anyone if they perform as well as they can.
He continued: “I’m fully confident in the lads. The talent and potential we have in this team is simply brilliant. I can’t think of any game where we have played well and lost.”
“I really do believe that things are in our own hands. If we can turn up and play well, we can beat anyone in the league. I am very optimistic and excited.”
Plymouth will certainly be hopeful they can maintain and possibly extend their aggregate lead this afternoon when they take on Glasgow from 5pm.
The home side will be confident of turning round the deficit in front of their home fans, but Plymouth will be determined to show some of their best form.
Elsewhere in the BBL, there are three other second-leg fixtures this afternoon as Cheshire Jets host Worcester Wolves, Guildford Heat take on Newcastle Eagles and the Leicester Riders are at home to the Sheffield Sharks.
It is set to be a cracking evening in the BBL!
