Paternostro – Riders focused on own game

Leicester coach Rob Paternostro says his main concern are their results and not those of the teams around them.

Leicester coach Rob Paternostro says his main concern are their results and not those of the teams around them.

The Riders are currently third in the BBL, but have four games in hand on second placed Worcester, while they could also cut the gap on league leaders Newcastle to four points should they win the two games in hand they have on the Eagles.

But following Saturday’s 97-69 win over Durham Wildcats, in which Drew Sullivan top scored with 18 points, Paternostro said they’re focused on their own game.

He told the club’s official website: “Obviously we look at the scores, we all do, we look at every score in the league but we’re not that concerned at the moment by teams around us. Right now, we’re looking at our own game and understand there’s a long way to go with the season so it doesn’t really matter who’s playing on the day.

“That was our third win in a row after losing two in a row and we just want to continue to build.”

Leicester’s win over Durham can be seen in full on SKY Sports 3 tonight (Tuesday, 6pm).
