Worcester coach Paul James is refusing to put his players under too much pressure as they prepare for their BBL Cup semi-final against Plymouth Raiders this weekend.

The Wolves go in to the game on the back of another victory over Mersey Tigers, as they look to progress to their first ever in the BBL.

James said: “It would be great to get the Wolves to the club’s first ever final in their BBL history. One thing is for sure: I won’t be putting my players under any pressure. I want them to continue and play as they have so far this season.

“The Cup is very important to us, but I would suggest that it is more important and crucial to Plymouth after the outlay made with putting the team together. We have been going into games and having fun and enjoying working hard for each other. We will continue to do so for the rest of the season.

“I’m okay with it (the format) as it is what it is! We have more than proved to ourselves that we can play tough back-to-back games as that’s all we have been doing over the last month. We have shown that we are physically and mentally tough in these situations and are ready for yet another tough challenge.

“We have played our best basketball away from home so far season so playing the second leg at Plymouth holds no fears for us, we love playing on their court in front of a full house!”

The Wolves have won the last two meetings between the two sides, but James rates Plymouth to have the best big man line-up in the BBL, with Anthony Rowe, Lehmon Colbert and Paul Williams, who fired the Raiders past his old club Sheffield to reach the last four.
