London Lions Head Coach Vince Macaulay has added British forward Tayo Ogedengbe to the London Lion’s roster ahead of the 2012/13 season.

London Lions Head Coach Vince Macaulay has added British forward Tayo Ogedengbe to the London Lion’s roster ahead of the 2012/13 season.

Ogedengbe, 6’7”, was the leading English scorer in the BBL last season averaging 17 points a game for the Guildford Heat and 5 rebounds.

The athletic forward scored at 60% from the floor with a season high 32 points twice in the season and brings three years of BBL experience to the Lions.

Coach Macaulay had this to say, “I am excited to bring a talent like Tayo’s to the London Lions, a lot of players in London have always wanted to represent at the highest level in their city, here is a great opportunity for him and other young English players. With the help of the GLL Sport Foundation we have been able to make this happen.” Having attended the Gran Canaria Basketball Academy in Spain, 25 year old Ogedengbe got his BBL debut with the Capitals before moving to the Heat.

Macaulay expects his new signing to move up a notch this season, “This is a time for Tayo to begin to fulfil his real potential, his energy and work rate are second to none in the BBL, his development in basketball savvy will continue this season and I am sure he will become a firm fan favourite amongst Lions fans”

Player announcements continue everyday for London’s new professional basketball team as the season approaches.
