Orlan Jackman has agreed a deal with London Lions for the forthcoming BBL season.
English born Jackman recently graduated from Oklahoma City University in the Sooner Conference of the NAIA. He was the team’s leading scorer, averaging 14ppg and eight rebounds per game.
Lions’ Head Coach Vince Macaulay believes Jackman has the qualities the Lions look for in a player.
He said: “At the London Lions we want to play a particular brand of basketball this season and Orlan typifies this.
“He can play every position on the floor, is athletically gifted, has three point range and most of all he’s English.
“Our role here is to show a legacy for what has happened here in London this summer and Orlan and the rest of our guys are going to spearhead this.”
Macaulay is confident the Lions can overcome the difficulties moving away from Milton Keynes, and reach the team’s goals for the 2012/13 season which begins on Friday, September 21.
“The way things are going right now, we are all delighted, the members of this squad have been carefully chosen for what they want to achieve which is in line with the goals of the London Lions.”
