MK Lions grabbed their first championship win with a triumphant 98-82 victory over the Guildford Heat in front of home fans on Sunday.

Demarius Bolds led all scorers with a massive 37 point haul shooting at a success rate of 64 percent. Stefan Gill also chipped in with 20 points personal.

It was a slow start for the Lions trailing by 10-3 in the first five minutes. But Bolds, Gill and Daniel Northern worked effortlessly to pull them within one at 19-20 at the end of the first quarter.

Baskets from Bolds and Northern at the start of the second period gave the Lions advantage and a 3-point dagger from Gill put them ahead by 29-24. Bolds continued his sensational scoring streak for the Lions to head to locker rooms comfortable in front at 53-42.

The Heat looked deflated in the second half with their dynamic duo of Martelle McLemore and Mike Martin under par. Martin finished the night with 15 whilst McLemore went only five points better with 20. The pair certainly had a shooting nightmare with Martin 6/14 and McLemore 5/18 from the field.

The Lions capitalized on this and the Heat led the lead slip into double figures way behind at 74-61 going into the final stanza.

The Heat briefly cut the deficit to nine early in the final period but the Lions went on an 11-2 surge to close out the all-important win.
