Lions forced to leave Milton Keynes

Vince Macaulay and the Lions are set to leave Milton Keynes after they were unable to find a new home venue for next season.

Vince Macaulay and the Lions are set to leave Milton Keynes after they were unable to find a new home venue for next season.

The Lions were kicked out of their Winterhill home, which was sold by its owners for retail use, at the end of last season, following on from previous exits at the Bletchley Leisure Centre and Middleton Hall.

Although Macaulay had been offered the opportunity to play at the arena next to stadium:MK by owner Pete Winkelman, it is believed that would only suit some of their matches.

With the Lions due to get their BBL campaign underway against Manchester Giants on September 21st, with their first home game 48 hours later against Newcastle Eagles, they now face a race against time to find a new permanent home.

Macaulay wants a permanent home to help cater for the hundreds of youth team players who represent MK at a national level, and is believed to be in final negotiations over a switch, which could be revealed by the end of this week.
