Leicester working hard to keep Drew Sullivan

Leicester Riders are hoping to persuade Great Britain star Drew Sullivan to stay with the club next season.

Sullivan, 32, is currently in camp with Team GB ahead of the Olympic Games, which start later this month, and has met with Riders representatives to discuss his future.

Riders General Manager Russell Levenston told the club’s official website: “Team GB spent a couple of days in Loughborough after they returned to the UK and we felt that there would not have been a better opportunity to meet up with one of our stars from 2011/12.

“Drew was an integral part of the record breaking team we had last season and to have him return would be fantastic. We’re working hard to recruit him and if we’re successful and Team GB are successful in the Summer, the Riders may have an Olympic medal winner on the roster!”

Leicester signed Sullivan from then-champions Mersey Tigers at the beginning of last season on a short-term deal, but were able to retain the London-born forward for the remainder of the campaign thanks to local sponsors.
