Leicester’s Barry Lamble reckons the Riders’ squad is the strongest the BBL has seen in years and that they are real contenders for every piece of silverware this season.
Rob Paternostro’s men have started the season well, and the additions of Brett Royster and Great Britain captain Drew Sullivan to their bench has re-inforced their contenders tag.
Writing on his own blog, Lamble said: “Looking at our team now I’m struggling to think of a team in the BBL in recent years that had such a strong squad that could easily play all 12 players without any of those players looking out of place on the court in BBL.
“Sullivan doesn’t really need any introduction as you don’t become GB captain for no reason and many of you already know what he brings to a team and what a great player he is. Not to mention the amount of silverware he has won in the BBL over the years (lets hope that continues this year).
“Brett (Royster) is a big man who is excellent defensively and smart offensively and can make that extra pass if needed, Brett’s addition has made our team look like real contenders.
“Things do look promising and I’m quietly confident about the season and hopefully getting some silverware.”
