Jets refreshed after Christmas break

Cheshire Jets coach John Lavery admits that the Christmas break came at the right time, as he looks to get his wounded roster patched up and back on the court.

Cheshire Jets coach John Lavery admits that the Christmas break came at the right time, as he looks to get his wounded roster patched up and back on the court.

After Friday’s trip to Sheffield, they host Guildford on Sunday, looking to repeat the 90-84 victory from earlier in the season.

Lavery said: “It came at a good time for us to try and get our injuries sorted. Now we just want to have a fully fit team and to play a game with a full roster for the first time.

“Heat are a totally different side from the first time we played them, but I expect Mike Martin and Drew Lasker to be important players for them.

Guildford coach Creon Raftopoulos expects another tough game for his side who have improved since then, and have now won two of their last three games

He said: “Having played them early in the season we know they a well balanced team that can score from inside and out. Coach Lavery has been unlucky in a few close games so their current standings in the league can be a bit misleading. He has assembled a good team and the addition of Dan Briglia will help them in the low post.”

Jets forward Colin O’Reilly could hit 1000 points in regular season BBL games, if he manages 24 points this weekend.
