Cheshire Jets ended their BBL Trophy campaign with a well-deserved 62-74 triumph over the Mersey Tigers in Knowsley on Friday night.

Jets Forward Matt Schneck led all scorers with 21 points partnered with an impressive 13 points personal for Jets captain Colin O’Reilly.

David Aliu was the top scorer for the Tigers on the night as he collected 19 points.

The two sides battled in the early exchanges but it was the Jets who gained the early advantage at the end of the first period leading 13-18.

The Tigers turned it around in the second quarter out scoring their opponents to cut the deficit to just two points with the Jets in front by 32-34.

In the second half, the Jets upped their intensity to run away with the lead. They distanced themselves from the Tigers by 14 points going into the final stanza at 46-60.

The Tigers tried their best to unsettle their northwest rivals in the final period, but it wasn’t enough as the Jets held on for a morale-boosting victory.
