Guildford Heat coach Creon Raftopoulos has indicated that he and the club will do their best to keep hold of four of his star men.

Drew Lasker, Frank Holmes, Tayo Ogedengbe and captain Mike Martin have been prioritised by Raftopoulos as the first players he wants to have at his disposal next season.

Coach Creon is a big fan of all four of the Heat players and had kind words to say about each of them, telling BBL Fans: “Drew Lasker was a big hit with the fans last season and is a good person on and off the court. We will sit down with him and have a chat and see if we can come to an agreement. We will do the same with Frank Holmes.”

Raftopoulos reserved special praise for Shooting Guard Ogedengbe, who was named in the BBL All-British Team of the Year, and also reassured fans that their captain, Mike Martin, would be asked to stay on at Guildford as well.

He added: “We will be looking to keep hold of Tayo. I would say he was our best player last year. That’s what the statistics suggested anyway.

“We will definitely hold talks with Mike Martin. He has been through a tough season but looks after his body well and there will be interest in him from other clubs.”
