MK Lions have the chance to even up their record and consolidate their place in the play-off places when they host Durham on Friday.

The Lions picked up a valuable win over Leicester last weekend to move to a 6-7 record, and despite being bottom of the league, the Wildcats gave BBL Cup winners Newcastle a stern test last weekend.

It represents the Wildcats’ first visit to MK, although the two sides did meet in the north east earlier in the season, with the Lions coming out 87-74 victors.

Lions guard Stefan Gill said: “We definitely needed that win. I can’t remember the last time that Lions won at Leicester, so it was a great boost for us after a couple of weekends off. Beating Riders should set us nicely for this weekend, but we can’t fall asleep on either Durham or Guildford.

“We know Wildcats have a lot of interchangeable players who can play several positions. They never stop moving, so we need to focus on every single player, and they haven’t one stand-out guy but that’s troubling in a way as you need to lock in on all of them. Ralph Bucci obviously has a lot of experience, he’s a great passer and a real leader, and you need to watch out for him. Mike Capocci is a good shooter, and I understand they’ve changed their point guard since we last played them.”

Wildcats head coach Dave Elderkin knows the danger posed by the Lions.

He said: “Lions play at 100 miles per hour, and really go after you on the boards. It’ll be a big test for us, obviously they have Demarius Bolds who can put on a one-man show if he wants to, but there’s a lot more to them than that as shown by their great win at Leicester.”
