Fab Flournoy is hopeful that Paul Gause will return to the Newcastle bench for Sunday’s clash against Cheshire, but admits the point guard is day-to-day.

Gause has been sidelined for the past fortnight with a calf injury, and Flournoy is still unsure as to whether the American will be able to feature at Northgate.

He said: “Paul is day to day now, he seems to be a quick healer and we hope to have him practicing fully by the end of the week. If he can practice properly he will play, if the doctor wants us to hold him back then that is what we will do.”
