Paul James has named a squad of 20 players to take on Scotland in a friendly international which will take place at the NIA Arena prior to the BBL Play-off Final.

The Worcester Wolves and England head-coach is happy with his group of players ahead of the game with Scotland on the 12th May.

“I have a good squad: the players have done well for their various teams this season and deserve to be in the squad”

Mersey Tigers are the most represented team with four players in a squad where all of the twenty players selected compete in the BBL. The decision was made not to look beyond the BBL and Sheffield Sharks and Cheshire Jets are the only two teams in the league that do not have one of their players selected.

The size of the squad was explained by James:

“I decided to choose a large squad because players will be automatically de-selected if they are playing in the Play-Off final”

England Select Squad: Paul Elderkin (Durham Wildcats), Andrew Wedemere (Glasgow Rocks), Albert Margai, Tayo Ogedengbe (both Guildford Heat), Jamell Anderson, Barry Lamble, Yorrick Williams (all Leicester Riders), Devan Bailey, Sam Cricelli, Myles Hesson, Mo Williams (all Mersey Tigers), Stefan Gill, Carl Josey, Adrien Sturt (all MK Lions), Darius Defoe, Andrew Thomson (both Newcastle Eagles), James Jones, Anthony Martin, Anthony Rowe (both Plymouth Raiders) and David Watts (Worcester Wolves)

Players in italics are at risk of being made unavailable for the friendly if their team makes the Play-Off Final, which will be shown live on SKY Sports on Saturday 12th May.
