Cheshire Jets have released Australian Dan Briglia, after he failed to fit in with coach John Lavery’s style of play.

Briglia only signed for the Jets in December, having spent last season with Essex Pirates, and made his debut in the dramatic overtime loss against Mersey Tigers.

Coach John Lavery said: “It was a tough decision to cut Dan, we brought him in with the hope that he could give us more of an inside presence, but it’s become clear over the last couple of games that he’s struggling to do so.

“I that’s down to his size, Dan is 6ft 5 but we need a bigger guy to help us with our inside game and rebounds. We wish him the best of luck for the future.”

The Jets host Milton Keynes Lions at Northgate Arena this Sunday (5:30pm tip off)
