MK Lions guard Demarius Bolds has been sporting pink Nike shoes in recent weeks to raise support in aid of breast cancer.

Bolds, 27, is in his second season with the Lions, and has scored 461 points in 18 championship games this season, having averaged 20.68 PPG in his first season last year.

Speaking on the club’s official website, he said: “I wanted to show my feelings and support in aid of Breast Cancer. My grandmother died recently from Breast Cancer and we have had other incidents in our family, I know here in Milton Keynes, it’s very topical especially with the Midnight Moo, Race For Life and other things like that.

“Everyone who knows me knows that I’m sneaker mad and it made sense that I show it through my shoes and my play, I know a lot of our fans really appreciated it and it made me feel closer to my family.”

Bolds who leads the BBL in scoring is back in action on Friday when the Lions visit the Sheffield Sharks then at home at the MK Lions Arena on Sunday for a 5.00pm tip of against the Glasgow Rocks.
