Glasgow Rocks have confirmed that Kieron Achara’s short-term deal has finished with the GB international subsquently leaving the club.

A club statement read: “The Rocks regret to inform that the agreement between the Glasgow Rocks franchise and Kieron Achara has now expired.”

“Regrettably, Kieron Achara will not play for the Rocks for the remainder of the season as no long-term agreement could be finalised.”

The 28 year-old had just began to hit top form in the league; top scoring in both of Glasgow’s two victories on the road at the weekend. Achara averaged 17.0 points per game along with 8.3 rebounds in his six matches; shooting 47.6% from beyond the arc and an equally impressive 89.7% from the free throw line.

Achara took to Twitter to show his appreciation for the support as well as wishing the club the best for the rest of the season.

@KieronAchara: “Just want to say a big thanks to the @rocksglasgow and the fans for the support over the last 2 months. Good luck for the season #gorocks”

Glasgow are currently sixth in the league standings with a 5-3 mark having won their last four games. Sterling Davis recently recruited Mike Ringgold to the team and the 25 year-old American can expect more court time following Achara’s departure.

Davis’ side have a week off following a recent double-header on the road and they will return to action on Friday 30th November as they travel to Manchester to take on the Giants before hosting the league leaders, Leicester two days after.
